About us

Since OEH began in 1968 our efforts have been focused on our Assistant Language Teacher / English Language Teacher / Native English Teacher division, endeavoring to provide our students with the finest English instruction available.

We are a small company, we work with two of the top private schools in the Kansai Keihan area. We are always looking to expand, but quality is far more important to us than quantity. Our size affords us the opportunity to devote quality time to both clients and teachers—ensuring we give the best experience we can offer to both.

New government regulations in Japan have caused some ALT/ELT/NET companies to cut teacher hours and salaries, which often results in a reduction of the level of service they are able to provide to their client schools. Despite this trend, OEH strongly believes in the benefits of having full-time instructors in our client schools—it simply provides a better experience for the school and its students. This is why OEH will continue to provide full-time instructors to our clients.

OEH understands that our instructors are the face of our company, thus, we endeavor to hire the best teachers, striving to make sure their experience with our company is a positive one.

Job description

Our instructors teach kindergarten and junior and senior high school students in accordance with a set curriculum using a variety of methods, in class sizes ranging from 10 - 50. Instructors need to be able to work independently during class time, but also as a team, as we are continually trying to perfect our lessons and methods.

There are multiple test periods throughout the year, and OEH instructors compose and administer their own exams and quizzes. Our instructors often consult with school administration and homeroom teachers on every student’s performance; therefore, accurate evaluation is an important aspect of a teacher’s job.

Instructors are also encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities while at school and build solid relationships with staff and students.

We also have our own private schools. Our students either live within the same building or come from nearby. So we prefer that our instructors take advantage of the accommodation we provide at reduced cost.
